I am so excited to share that we finally signed a contract for our upcoming bathroom and laundry room renovation. After multiple bids, we selected a contractor to move forward with. Demo will begin the third week of March and construction will begin the fourth week of March.
The plan is to completely gut the existing space, open everything up, and swap the location of the bathroom and laundry room. There is a long hallway now so when that wall is removed the usable space will essentially be doubling in size. We will now be able to walk right into a mudroom area which we had no space for before. Below is a rough drawing of the new space.
Since we are officially on the contractor’s schedule, I have been working on selecting and purchasing our bathroom materials first. I created this design board showcasing most of my selections. I guess if I could define my decorating style it would be “modern industrial farmhouse” with pops of simple color… think whites, neutrals, woods, and metals.
So far I’ve only ordered the sink and vanity, I may not order the mirror and light fixture until I see some of the other items being installed. I like to decide on the big ticket items, and then let the room evolve. We are having the steel vanity custom made by a local furniture maker. Below was my inspiration for wanting this open style vanity. Isn’t this bathroom to die for?!
I will be working on the laundry room design board very soon. Stay tuned for another post with all of those selections. Cannot wait to start sharing progress photos!
