Welcome to the first week of my all new Design Crush Series featuring an incredible home designed by the homeowners themselves, Oyster Creek Studios. I initially came across Aryn Guillory’s stunning home on Instagram, and I fell in love with its bright, open and modern feel. Every photo of this home is better than the last so make sure you hover over each image you love and save to Pinterest! All photographs were shot by Colleen Scott Photography.
The entry to this home begins with these solid wood front doors. I love that Aryn chose black door hardware which really pops against the wood.
As you look up from the entryway, you’ll see this foyer is two stories high. The large windows allow ample amounts of natural light to flood in. This massive beaded chandelier with gilded brass certainly makes a statement and fills out the ceiling height appropriately.
As you cross through the foyer you will end up at the kitchen which is the hub of the home. A place where everyone can gather. The open concept floor plan allows the kitchen and living room to flow continuously. The massive island separates the two spaces, and allows for both prep space and seating. I love the contrasting gray color accented with modern shiplap.
There is a combination of both closed and open storage providing plenty of options for all of the kitchen’s essentials. The glass display cabinets are a nice designer’s touch. I couldn’t dream up a more beautiful kitchen if I tried!

Take a look at this unique, elongated version of subway tile, and how the brass cabinet hardware complements those gorgeous white oak engineered hardwood floors. The whole kitchen really has a fresh and clean palette. To the left of the kitchen is their breakfast dining nook which you will see more of below. In our home we almost always eat at the dining table within our kitchen, using the dining room only for special occasions.

Here you can see the full view of this expansive kitchen. I love the double wide refrigerator which fills out the space nicely. The sky high ceiling height keeps these drum pendants above sight lines.
These homeowners love to entertain and boy have they created the perfect space for it! This built-in bar is right off of the kitchen with open living room views. Can you spot the built-in, below the counter refrigerators? How convenient is that? All bar essentials are stocked right beneath your work space.
All functional wet bars need a sink and this one is no exception. The upper cabinets provide plenty of storage for glassware and liquor bottles. The bar also has the elongated subway tile back splash tying into the kitchen. I love the addition of ginger jars for a pop of color.

The Living Room
This open concept living room allows Aryn to work in the kitchen, but remain in view of her children and guests. The addition of the custom built-ins around the fireplace provide symmetry to the room. All of the furniture is arranged as a conversation set making this space welcoming.

Here is an up close view of the living room built-ins which are anything but ordinary with shiplap, reclaimed wood, and brass + lucite cabinet pulls. The shelves are styled simply and perfectly.

In another life I will have floor to ceiling windows overlooking my patio! These glass patio french doors allow a panoramic view of Oyster Creek which makes this my favorite part of Aryn’s home.

The Breakfast Nook
Right off of the kitchen you have this bright breakfast nook. The white shiplap looks amazing paired with these contrasting black doors and windows. The bistro chairs add warmth and a homey cafe vibe to the space.

The homeowners use this custom built in cabinetry just off of the breakfast nook to store all of their outdoor dining serveware, plus odds and ends such as the kids art supplies. I love the cross detail which make these one of a kind.
The Master Bedroom
This master bedroom has sky high vaulted ceilings that add an element of luxury. The iron canopy bed fills the room perfectly. The wood beam draws your eyes above and defines the ceiling height.

The Master Bathroom
Could you envision a more clean and classic design? The marble floors and counters in this master bathroom are timeless. Spills and stains are much more unlikely in the bathroom which makes this the perfect spot for marble.

This freestanding tub adds a feeling of peace and tranquility. It draws my mind to nights on vacation at a hotel. I love the addition of ample, symmetrical cabinetry for all of the homeowner’s bath essentials. The chandelier though I cannot get over! Such a statement piece!

The Guest Bathrooms
This home has three additional full bathrooms each with their own unique design aspect. The blue patterned tile adds an eclectic vibe to an otherwise all white space.

The combination of blue and brass exudes major personality. It’s bold, but it adds just enough character to this small space. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am loving brass again!

Again this unique patterned floor tile gives wow factor to an otherwise white palette. I love how easy of an addition this was, and it makes this bathroom stand out from the rest.

You are now looking at my second favorite space in this home, probably because I don’t have my own mudroom yet. The mudroom serves as a catch all for the family, and I love how these lockers are closed off to hide any mess. Please herringbone, never go out of style because these floors are perfection!

Can you image a more perfect view? This family’s home overlooks Oyster Creek, located in the Sienna Plantation of Texas. The outdoor dining and lounge area all set on an expansive covered patio that offers protection from the Texas sun. This quality wicker furniture was made by Restoration Hardware, but Aryn actually found it on Craigslist from a nice elderly couple who no longer needed it.

This outdoor living space is really an extension of their living room. The French patio doors bring both spaces into one. The outdoor fireplace is an oh so cozy touch!
