Welcome to the Valentine’s Day at Home blog tour. If you are visiting from House of Hire, I’m so glad you’re here! I love using holidays as a reason to entertain at home, and Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite occasions. My girlfriends are coming over this weekend to celebrate so naturally, I’m sharing 4 things you need for Galentine’s Day brunch.
1. A Beautiful Tablescape
Who doesn’t love a beautiful tablescape? I really enjoy expressing my creativity with tablescapes. I like to think it makes my guests feel special and extra welcome.
Setting up your place settings in advance also saves you valuable time. I hate running around getting my table set up while guests are over. If you have everything set up, all you need to do is prepare and bring out the food.
My suggestion is to plan your tablescape ahead of time, using a mix of serve ware you already own plus a few fun, new items.
Use a table runner, centerpiece, and place settings to create a gorgeous tablescape. Your girlfriends are sure to be impressed!
2. A Fresh Floral Centerpiece
Nothing beats a gorgeous, fresh floral arrangement. A fresh floral table centerpiece adds the perfect wow factor your guests will love. Plus, after brunch, I get to enjoy them all week long!
Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I chose bright, coral roses to brighten my table. I was really tempted to pick up white or blush pink roses, but I wanted them to stand out from the rest of my table decor.
In addition to the roses, I used fresh silver dollar eucalyptus as filler. Since this glass vase has a narrow opening these tall, flexible eucalyptus stems worked flawlessly.
3. A Bottle of Champagne to Cheers
You can’t host a Galentine’s Day brunch without bubbly! Rose champagne is one of my absolute favorites, and this bottle was a recommendation from the sommelier at our local wine shop.
4. A Festive Menu
By festive menu, I actually meant the food you are serving for brunch. However, I took this quite literally and made these cute menus for each place setting. I love how they turned out, and it adds a personalized touch to my table. They took minutes to make in Photoshop then I printed and cut them at our local Office Depot. Grab a blank, printable copy of these menus to make your own! Simply hand-write in cursive the menu you are serving.
Now what you serve at Galentine’s Day brunch should be festive AND yummy! I found these cute bowls at Target Dollar Spot for a few bucks each.
Naturally, festive for Valentine’s Day means heart-shaped everything! I whipped up some waffle mix and used my heart-shaped waffle maker. Before serving I sprinkled with confectioner’s sugar and put out Nutella for dipping.
