You are here because you want to set up your own Link Tree page for Instagram. That’s excellent news – you’ve realized you are sending traffic to someone else’s website instead of your own. Blogging is HARD and the key to success is to continually be learning and improving.
I am really excited to share with you how easy it is to start converting your audience on Instagram to additional page views on your website. After adding a Link Tree page to my own blog, I saw immediate results and doubled the referral traffic I was receiving from Instagram.
Download and Activate the Elementor Plugin
Find ‘Plugins’ located on the left side of your WordPress dashboard then ‘Add New’. Type ‘Elementor Page Builder’ into the search bar then hit ‘Install Now’ then ‘Activate’.
Create a New Page
Within your WordPress dashboard, open your ‘Pages’ tab and then ‘Add New’. Name your new page ‘Link Tree’ then click ‘Edit with Elementor’.
Edit Your New Page With Elementor
Here is my own Link Tree for example… I set mine up as basic as possible with my links as close as possible to the top of the screen. I want Instagram users who click on my profile link to immediately know they are in the right place.
In order to make your Link Tree page look like above, you will need to modify the Page Settings to remove the Page Title then add both the Heading & Button widgets.
Open ‘Page Settings’ then turn on ‘Hide Title’ and change the template from ‘Default’ to ‘Elementor Canvas’.
Once the Page Title is hidden, you can add your Widgets. First, add a ‘Heading’ widget – you simply drag and drop the widget onto ‘Add New Section’. Change the Heading text to your Instagram handle and align it to center. Using the ‘Style’ tab, you can change the font, size, and color of your Instagram handle to fit your branding.
Next, add your first ‘Button’ widget. Change the Button text to your link title and then add the link you want the button to direct to. Align your button to ‘Justified’ then change the size to ‘Extra Large’. Again using the ‘Style’ tab, adjust the font, size, and color of the Button to fit your branding. You will add additional Buttons for additional links or update your existing Buttons as you change your links in the future.
Publish and Save Your Page
Don’t skip the most important step! Go back to ‘Page Settings’ and change the page status from ‘Draft’ to ‘Published’. Once you’ve published, hit the green ‘Save’ button to save your page then click the small ‘X’ and ‘Go to Dashboard’.
Double check that your Page status is ‘Published’ as shown below. If so, your new Link Tree page is LIVE! Simply copy and use the Permalink to share your page. You can also change or edit your Permalink if you prefer. Make sure you TEST your permalink on both your computer and phone to ensure it is working correctly before adding it to your Instagram profile bio.
Use Google Analytics to Watch Your Pageviews Grow
Now that you’ve created your own Link Tree page and added it to your Instagram profile, your Instagram referral traffic will double. Why is that? When you promote your latest blog post on your Instagram feed, you direct your readers to click the link in your bio. The reader has to click on your Link Tree page first then select the blog post they want to read – that’s two page views already!
You may also find they will read additional posts while they are on your site OR maybe another link on your Link Tree caught their eye (like a freebie!) and they go back and click on that next. I LOVE the results I am seeing already and I am really excited for you to grow your businesses as well.
